Worst part about shoot thru windows is my rangefinder doesn't work!

        MISS!

Had even just video'd it, reviewed the tape and it was obvious the arrow was deflected downward. I posted it here back then, but it had some naughty words in it.

Best bet(if you can) is to position you ground blind so the morning or evening sun isn't pouring through the window. I have sat in mine and waved at Deer 10 yards away without being seen.
Was it a mech? Im just curious.

i don't shoot through anything before the arrow gets to the animal/target. Tried it with my ground blind once to see what happened and was all over the place!

            No, my trusty ol HellRazor

I gotta think angle had something to do with it, I shoot from the floor on both knees, making the point of impact actually higher than my arrow on the rest.

Last one I shot from that spot entered right behind the knuckle and exited top of the offside shoulder blade.

It was a one time lesson, and later discovered I really didn't need it for concealment purposes...it was nice to have for keeping the bugs out though.

The buck in my avatar was shot thru mesh, but I was shooting snuffers with feather fletchings... 24 yards, and it hit right where I was looking. I've since switched to vanes (high profile Blazers), and I've tried the same thing with them at hogs with NO success... got very squirrley arrow flight and fortunately made 3 clean misses at different times. Would not ever try it on a deer. Actually, with good blind set up, the mesh is not needed anyway.

I have shot more animals through the netting than I have without the netting. If your bow is TUNED, the netting is tight and you aren't shooting a slip cam mechanical if you miss I promise it isn't the mesh fault.

Anyone who says it deflected the arrow either didn't have a tuned bow or ha their bow canted on the shot and it caused bad flight b4 it got to the netting.

You MAY be right to a point, BUT if your broadhead cuts a smaller hole than the fletching profile, there's no way you will not get an adverse affect on arrow flight with the stiffer Blazer vanes being forcably pulled through the netting. If it is stretched tight, it will be less of a problem, but there will still be an impact of arrow flight. When the arrow contacts the netting in most cases, it is also still in contact with the bow string and oscillation of the shaft has already begun. That cannot be neutral to arrow flight to have another axis of force acting on the arrow. My experience with feathers was always good, but I got some serious corkscrew flight with the blazers shooting through the same mesh, all else being the same. AND I DO know how to tune bows. Heck, I shoot a 515 gr arrow tipped with a big old snuffer out of a bowtech destroyer 31" draw/full length arrows and have always been able to shoot my broadheads in the same place as field points. No tuning issues here.

I've shot dozens of arrows through shoot through without any issues.

No to mechanicals but any fixed broadhead any vane has worked just fine for me.

My blind has velcro to hold the mesh so I thought it might slip when I shoot through it. With fixed blades it goes right through with no effect on the flight of the arrow. I can't even see the mesh move.

I have shot countless animals thru a shoot thru mesh and it has never affected the arrow flight with fixed or expandable blades. My son made a 32 yard shot with a 40 pound bow on a doe (Rage broadhead) and it zipped right thru her like butter.

Travis, do the Rages open up on the mesh?

Have never had a problem shooting through mesh with Montecs or Slick Tricks in the blinds I make. Make sure your broadhead is tuned with your fletchings. The mesh also needs to be as tight as possible. Once I shoot through it once or twice I replace the mesh.

Buck in my avatar was shot through netting with a 2 bladed Rage and Blazer vanes. He was at 27 yards and the arrow hit perfectly, double lunged. Now, for all of the folks that have had trouble with netting, it must be as tight as leather over a drum. My son-in-law shot a Muzzy through very loose netting and he said the arrow went straight up. Gotta be tight enough to bounce a coin off of it. Set it up and try it before you shoot at an animal.
