STOP THE INSANITY! Deer Lease Managers.....

ok look, I am so tired of talking to different people about their deer leases they have advertised. So far I have talked to several people (none of which I will name) who are quite frankly full of BS! Why? Why? Why?

Call it like it is people!

Thank you for your time, Jeff

Amen Brotha! I am lucky enough to have excellent land owners. I am in the minority but I have had it the other way around.

Maybe you're looking TOO hard. Finding a deer lease is like trying to find a girlfriend, when you're really trying hard you usually end up with an ugly one Let her come to you.

What are they saying that we need to know about? I read the ads too and they always sound wonderful. What are you finding out?

Hey guys...I saw an ad from a guy that said he is very reputable.
he has a family ranch that has never been hunted, ever. They've seen several deer in the 300 class, and one of the neighbors shot a pending world record.

He said he might hunt every know and then, but yo'll probably never see him. BEcause he might come out occasionally, he wants you to call first before three days before you hunt, (just so he won't come out when you're there). The price seems a little high... it's 2500 acres for 900,000 total, but he said with the exception of the neighbor that shot the pending world record, none of the other neighbors hunt either. He said you will see stands and feeders on their property, but they just like looking at deer.

sounds like a great deal... who else is in???

I'm not trying very hard. I just happen to talk to a few who I knew were full of BS. Lease managers need to get a grip and stop trying to BS. I love the line, "Oh, uh, one more thing...."

I was going to get on a lease in Harper and the old man and his son where showing us the place. I made a point to ask the son about the number of Rattlesnakes on the place. He said, "they have seen like 1 in 40 years." Then we where all together with the son and old man, I asked the old man about Rattlesnakes and he was like, "we got a lot, killed two last week."

I won't be doing anything this year, and probably not next. But after that, all bets are off! I really like our lease, we've been there 11 years now, and many people here would love to have it. But it's getting too crowded, and some members just aren't willing to put up the effort to make it what it could be. And it's like the great Jimmy Johnson (football coach, not NASCAR guy) said...."You're either gettin better, or you're gettin worse.......you never stay the same!"

Deer leases are like girlfriends your always trying to upgrade!!!

I guess I am a deer lease manager since I have 2 lease where I own the contract and I alone work with the landowner. But I hunt with my freinds and each I need to add a hunter or two. My biggest advice is to have the lease manager (if you have to deal with one of those @ssholes) to give you the number of the dude your replacing. If anyone is gonna shoot straight with you it is the guy your looking to replace. If the landowner wont give you his contact info keep walking brother, life is too short.

Trust me as well, tooke me 4 years to find a lease. And then you have to fight for them because theirs 10 groups saying they want it. Keep the one you have until you have another one. The competition out there is fearce.
