No sir. I don't buy 6 volt. Only 12. Makes it easier

I'll try the metal. Those who have just screwed it to the side of the barrel, did you not have a moisture problem? I will silicone around it or get self tapping screws with a gasket but I'm just curious.

This is exactly why I'm asking. Mesquites are so thick I can't get a shot unless it's in a 20x10 yard area. But this feeder throws it WAY past that.

            All seasons.

I have these, and a Texas hunter one that throws hard. My spintech used to but I guess it's getting old lol.

You might try changing out the slinger, or wiring in a rheostat.

My Texas Hunter Products feeder is the same way. When it slings, you better get back!

I tried lowering the spinner a little bit, but doing that just causes the corn to fall on the ground.

Instead of screwing the flashing to your barrel you might wrap it around the upper part of the legs (where they meet the barrel) and punch holes in the flashing and wire it up. We use self tapping screws to put up our varmint cages but if you are worried about moisture I would go with the wiring route. Easiest way the better.

I'm dealing with the same thing. My two new spots are tight/small. I've got some serious 12v motors with no varmint cage (using eliminator plates) and that corn goes into the next county. I haven't had time to mess with it. I used to gripe at my other leases about all the corn falling straight down...guess I should have shut up. =)

                      Shorter feeder legs?

i put rubber mats on my varmint cage, also you may be able to change the flapper direction so that it shoots the corn straight up and down. I don't really care if all the corn is under the feeder as I always throw hand corn when i want to spread them out.

also if you think 7.5 feet is high enough that you don't need a varmint cage . . . . bro you might want to reconsider

red arrows show the mats I used cost a couple bucks each and then the yellow area side is open so it slings the corn between the feeder and the blind.

they are the rubber mats that you put on commercial stairs

carpet would work... Look ugly as heck, but would work temporarily.

I didnt put it that high for varmints lol
I got some 2" legs and didn't feel like cutting them. I was in a hurry. Not much time. I take care of varmints!!

Use sheet metal, its just like ringing a dinner bell!
DO NOT DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!! You know the warning they put on the top of the ladder that says "Do not step or stand here"? Very good advice to follow.

About a month ago I stood on the top step of a 6' ladder to get on an 8' roof. I gave myself one little push to get my rear up on the roof. Ladder go bye bye. I was like Wile E Coyote hanging in the air trying to grab ahold of something. Came down on the back of my trailer.

Spent the night in the hospital, got stitches in my forehead and surgery on my knee. Dang knee is still swolllen. I've done it before (standing on the top step) and got away with it. Never again.

Yes, I've bought a better and taller ladder since then.
