TPWD Public Hunt Issue

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue:

I filled applications out and mailed payments for several Public Drawn Hunts. They were all for different type hunts and before deadline dates as directions state. My check to them has already cleared my bank. Called the automated system and they have "no Applications on file for me at this time". This is BS considering one of the draws is today!

Anyone else?

First off, mine says the same thing. Secondly, the draw is NOT today. Just the deadline. Patience.

The system only knows you mailed in entries after they enter the data off of your cards into the computer. They'll get to it....

They are short handed and things are not getting done as fast as they used too. I check my stuff all the time, and have two they have not entered yet. But if it is the Archery hunts you are talking about I would call just to make sure there wasn’t a mistake on the card and they are disqualifying it for some reason. If there is a mistake they will normally fix it over the phone.

Yep. If they'd ever get an online entry system in place, we could do all the data entry work for them too. Maybe next year.....

What's crazy is the system allows you to fill it all out and print it. They just need a way to take payment and enter to a database. Amazing that the state can't find a way to take more money from us!

True, but then there's going to be many more people applying because it would be easier to do so.

It won't be any easier for the applicants. I do it all online now, but instead of clicking on a "Submit Entries and Pay Fees" button, I click on a "Print" button and mail them in. There are probably lots of rednecks that won't be able to figure out an online entry system anyway, so maybe our draw odds would go up!

I like the way you think.

My cards are different this year than years past. Normally, I'd apply for where I wanted to hunt. This year I applied for the dates that best fit my school schedule. Guess we'll see how it goes.

I called yesterday and it said the same thing.Called again today and a couple made it into the system.Over the next few days they should have it all updated.

They probably wont go to an online entry system because it would disqualify those that don't do internet.

The system does not allow one to fill in the application entirely, only the primary applicant's information. If one wants to add other group members or a Youth Hunt, it must be hand-written in no different than a regular application.
