I saw a tweet from Snyder wishing Olt luck. I thought that was a pretty classy move and I am sure Snyder will be called back up next month with the September roster moves.

I am curious to see where Olt will be in the lineup.

He'll take playing time away from Beltre,Young,Moreland and Murphy. I'm not wild about the idea, especially in the thick of a pennant race. I would have preferred to get him some AB's when rosters expand in september, but not right now.

I think the idea is to get him up now, so we can see if he is part of the plans for September. It is hard not to look at what the Angels did with Trout (and I am in no way comparing Trout and Olt) but bring in a young, upcoming ball player to give this team a shot of energy and take a chance. After the month of July the Rangers, just had I have no problem with trying something new or different.

I don't mind Olt playing third if Beltre is dhing. But he doesn't play much if he is not producing quick. Moreland can get hot this time of year so I don't want Young at 1B to get his bat in the lineup.

There is too much on the line to tinker right now....unless he pulls a Mike Trout..

He won't take playing time away from beltre but will give beltre a rest. Remember he has plus defense and a strong arm. This hopefully means we won't have to hear Busby and tag say "past a diving Michael young" anymore at 3rd or 1st.

Daniels was quoted saying we wouldn't call him up if we didn't think he was ready .. We will see.. Just hope he's better than our last 2 big bat call ups. Davis and smoak

Agree with every single point made here. Beltre will benefit from a rest in the field. I think Olt will do just fine up in the bigs. We will find out what he's got tonight.

Like Heath said, I think they want to get a look at him before September. I think they had plans to go get a right hand bat any way. Unless Olt proves capable. I think he will give Beltre a rest at 3rd and let him DH some. Either way it spells less playing time hopefully for Young. I love the guy, but he's just not getting it done.
