Brass vs steel cases in AR15

Did I read something about using brass and steel cased rounds in AR15 being a bad thing?
Did I read it wrong that switching back and forth causes problems?
Help me get the right information.

I've ran steel, brass, and lacquer coated ammo through mine with no problems!

      In theory.

Ar's are dirty. You shoot a bunch of steel ( doesn't expend as much). All the extra space gets filled in with crap. Switch to brass (expands more) and boom you have a jam.

My ar has, knock on wood, not jammed to date and I shoot both. Even ran an alternating mag through it for grins. For what it's worth...

i had it jam so bad i had to put the barrel in a lathe after the ejector ripped the rim off the case so i could drill out the primer, colapse the case and smash it out with a dowel rod. i will never shoot steel cases in my AR again. i have never had a jam with that AR yet i have only shot 200-250 rounds through it.

            This.

When you fire a bullet the chemical reaction inside the casing causes it to expand to the size of the chamber forming a seal. After the bullet fires the case contracts a little bit to allow it to be ejected.

I'm not a fan of steel. Some will say no problem some say avoid it at all costs. I stay away from it.

Steel cases are not your friend.

You can't reload em... And steel causes more wear than brass. Period.

(there are people that say steel doesn't cause more wear... But it does. These same people have a brass hammer to work on guns.. If steel casings weren't bad then why not use a steel hammer???)

If your wanting to run steel through a rifle by an ak. It will eat steel for breakfast. And still run till after dark.

I have ran both. Don't care for the steel. I had an ejector that needed replaced and I blame it on the steel case.

No problems shooting steel in mine. AR parts are cheap. Something wears then replace it with all the money you saved shooting steel cased ammo.

I HAVE SHOT IT ALL FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD.

All of my current ARs shoot STEEL and BRASS ammo FLAWLESSLY.

If you have an AR that is finicky , they you have either
GAS / CLEANING / HEAD SPACING issues.

My question for you is this ---

DO YOU WANT TO RELY ON A WEAPON THAT ONLY SHOOTS BRASS ?

I need/want all weapons that I rely on to function whem i pull the trigger.
If you have a finicky gun - get rid of it or fix it.
I hope you never have to use it for defense.
                              Foreign or Domestic.
