Need some new boots for work and was looking at some Red Wings. Are they worth the extra money?

i think that they are, although the soles don't seem to be as good as the last pair i bought, (about 10 yrs ago), they are still good quality boots.

Yes sir. Just be sure to buy the better model, which might have to be ordered.

I had a pair of Red Wing uninsulated field boots that my dad gave me in 1982 when I was in college. But they were in my travel trailer and got burned up in the wild fire last year. Such a shame. They were broke in just the way I liked them. Yes, I bought a new pair, but it's just not the same.

Great boots. Have had my same pair for 7years. The last pair for 10. The guy finally said at Redwing "son these can't be resoled anymore." that was after the 4th time they did them. Once you get them broke in they are more comfortable than your favorite pair of tennis shoes.

All day long... Been my boot for many years in the oilfield... You can buy their lower end boot but you will have to break them in, spend a bit more money and you will have a awesome boot from the get go...
