I've been here since '99. Mostly a lurker but lately I've been posting more. This is family, mostly due to Michael and Mary, both whom I have met. They are both EXCEPTIONAL people and without their vision, we wouldn't be here. I'm thankful for TBH!

It's facebook (only better) for bowhunters, Texans, and our out-of-state members..........without all of the mindless stupidity, that I've seen on FB.
I've only been here for a year, but it's been a great ride so far, and I've made a bunch of good friends on here, that I'd never have even met, much less fostered a relationship with, because of TBH.
Yes, there are disagreements, but that's inevitable (even in your own family) when so many diverse viewpoints converge in one place, and also due to how the typed word, is so easily misconstrued, from what the spoken word conveys.

My first reaction when I found this site, it was the genuine of people, kindness, open arm, and family-like atmosphere.

There was no condescending, mouthing off to newbie, and/or cliquey attitude. That drew me in like a black hole in space that I couldn't get out of.

Michael, Mary, Mods and y'all make this site into one of the best site of all.

Foundation is the key in building from ground up. This is the solidest foundation I've ever seen.

Niche- I don't know if I have one but I know for one thing, I'm the Deaf dude who can't stop talking on GS. An irony of my Deafness.

i dont post much, mainly lurk. but the people on this site are second to none. i have been on other sites, like tigerdroppings.com, and most of the people over there are probably kids just starting flame wars to occupy their time.

Over here, there are always friendly people here willing to help out with anything, and we all share a love of the outdoors.

and even though i am from louisiana, i haven't been called a dumb coonarse yet! lol

I'll answer that. There are QUITE A FEW folks on here that are helpful to us rookies beyond recall.

I have gotten great, informative responses, much tolerance for my bowhunting ignorance and what seems to be spot on advice.

To me, guy's like Ragin' along with TONS of other guy's offer invaluable help. There's no replacing knowledge from bowhunting 20+ years.

Next, the moderation here is firm, but dignified and polite. Negative, flaming and otherwise questionable threads simply go away. No heavy handed tactics seem to be needed.

Another thing, is this, having been on other forums, having been a site admin and moderator I like this forum because it DOES NOT have the various distractions of "Off Topic" type sections. This is a seemingly focused site, but there is enough latitude to allow us to ham it up and discuss other avenues ni a dignified manner.

I have no idea what my "niche" is. If I had to guess, it would be a pain in Ragin's butt with all my questions

Last but not lease, I think because of the pre-determined culture here, there exists a sentiment of fellowship, and community stewardship that is seldom found on websites. And that is about PEOPLE. Quality is quality
