Looking great, Michael. I love that rock work on the fireplace. Speaking of fireplaces, is that one of those that has a small electric heater in the bottom and mimics a flame with red and yellow tissue paper blowing in a fan? (I just had to "pile on" with Morris.)

Joking aside, big props to Barbara. That woman has a real eye for all things class (other than a husband).

We put considerable thought (well, what I think is considerable thought...we'll see how it pans out when we start trying to connect it!) into trying to plan the entertainment system.

It's hard to tell from the picture with the cabinets, but here's one pre-cabinets that might help to explain. We'll have the satellite and DVD players on the open shelves. I considered putting them inside one of the base cabinets, but I didn't want to have to leave a door open to operate them with the remotes. There are multiple CAT5 and RG6 drops from the closet that you can probably see in the cabinets, or the upper quad box above. I also ran a line back out from the Satellite receiver to the wall immediately behind the tv (center of the entertainment center on the cabinet picture).

The yellow and pink wires are speaker wires that go to 9 different sets of speakers in various rooms, each with separate volume controls and it will be housed inside the enclosed base cabinet. I want to have inputs from DVD, VCR, Satellite and Stereo Receiver/Amp. I'm also exploring options on having inputs for streaming audio from the internet and pushing it to the room speakers, and possibly even streaming video to the television. Oh, we're also wired for surround sound in the living room.

They did mis-measure the cabinets before installing, so they had to "refit" them, which threw off some of my wiring. They said they could fix it, but we'll see how it'll look when they have to start cutting the holes.

I told my wife last weekend, just after we spent the afternoon cutting a tree into fireplace sized logs and were on the way to deliver them to an elder in our church that heats his home exclusively with his wood fireplace, how embarrassing it was to live where we live, with access to so many trees, and we have a GAS fireplace!

I do have big plans for an outdoor, wood burning fireplace some day, though!

Looking good, Michael! Stay on top of those contractors. The last 10% can really make a big difference in quality AND schedule. It's not too early to put together a detailed punch list!

Love the rock walls! Can you look into why some or most of the pictures in threads don't show up? I can only see 3 of the pictures in this whole thread Michael.
