Michael, Do you remember how much it cost to rock the fireplace. I am getting ready to do it at my house, and have been trying to get a reasonable price range? Where at in Paris did you build? I used to work there at the Fire Dept before transferring to Richardson FD. I lived in Reno but worked at Paris Fire. I used to Bow hunt out past the Archers for Christ property back in 2000-2002. I loved it there, but the pay was not competitive at all.

I don't know how elaborate (or not) you plan on getting on this thing, but there will be a TON of interconnect wiring if you plan on doing satellite, DVD, CD, HDTV, etc.. in that space. I'm curious as to whether you have thought out whether you will use the shelves to the sides of the TV as bookshelves or if you plan to put your equipment on those shelves. My suggestion would be to use those as bookshelves or picture/art shelves and put the equipment below. It would be hard to amost impossible to hide all of the wiring to/from if you put the equipment on the upper shelves.

Give me what you would like to have and I can go from there. Speaker placement comes into play as well.
