thanks....the backup was mostly to keep my internet working when the power went out...lol...well, it keeps a couple other servers running that make a few bucks....but generally only run the ups down once every year or two....luckily we don't have to many power problems....

You may want to have someone come out and check you batteries since they had a full discharge. If you do make sure they use an Alber Cellcorder or a Midtronics unit these both put a small load on each battery and can tell if there is anything going on.

                  Gotcha! Understand now.

I have about 40 servers in amazon EC2 network. Might take a look at that, but be very, very careful about what regions you choose if you need uptime.

I could prolly do without this server nowadays, just need to gimp it back online so I can see what all I have on there or at the least, just get a TB external and pull the data off the scsi's

I have done this in the past...but it has been a while and didn't do it often enough to recall much.....

Thank goodness it wasn't my other servers....the one LoneAggie is hopefully getting the website updated for so I can get those heaters out of the closet...

the fun and games of your own live public servers at the house have gone....
Now might be a good time to review your DRP for your more important servers. What exactly was this server doing?

just serving up websites....they are backed up and someone is supposed to be revamping one so that I can just move it out of the house. I built myself into a corner with the coding of this one website and I don't know the new programming languages so.....

with the servers as old as they are, I should prolly buy spare swap servers since they are so cheap. maybe I'll get lucky and the website will get done quick and then I can just move the stuff to my hosting company
