Oh I thought this thread was about runners. Like the kind that run down your sidewalk, and sometimes step on your grass. I was gonna say that spraying them with roundup only makes them angry. You gotta bring firepower to those people. A scattergun works good. It's pretty much a one time deal. You do it once and they don't come around any more.

San Augustine grass is nothing but runners. If you don't like them, pull it up and round up everything, then plant Bermuda grass.

those runners are the heart to your root system. Spraying round up on them will more than likely kill more than just the runner. I suggest you keep in trimmed with a mechanical device.
