How to get rid of grass runners ??

My yard is nice and green from some rain and some watering but I got a lot of runners. How can one get rid of them along my curbs and sidewalks other than edging or weedeating them ? Chemicals ?

depends what look you want. Round up will leave a dead brown strip along the walk and edging leaves a sharp green edge. I prefer edging with an edger not a weedeater although I used a weedeater for years.

I've done both but can you get rid of them forever or at least slow em down ?

Runners is how they grow and expand.....unless you want your grass to die, there will always be runners..

              Is that weedeater too heavy...

Runners are good for bare area's. all it takes is to stab the spade shovel in the ground, push forward then pull back, drop the runner roots in the trough and stomp on it! new grass in the making.

Runners are just part of a healthy growing yard. Nothing you can do except cut em off or kill them with chemicals. You can spray just the runners themselves with Gly but the yard will just produce more.... unless you kill the source (the yard itself).

I have Celebration Bermuda Grass and I have to edge every 4-5 days when we get rain in the summer....the runners just run amuck!

You could just spray the whole yard and go Xeriscape.

That's just the sign of a healthy lawn.

And yes, weed eating or edging them will have to be done every time you mow.
