They are good, but I thought the one just getting into Haliewa was better (sorry, can't remember the name).
Ted's Bakery by Sunset Beach is a must. Do yourself a big favor and isit Art..Is in Haliewa. You will NOT be dissapointed.
Hike Kaena Point form either the north or the west, but do it early am and take plent of water. You will be in for some nice treats for sure. I did it from both directions. Saw lots of whales, mmonk seals, albatross of all ages and a few other treats.
Swimming with the sharks is great. Hanauma Bay is a must, but closed on Tues. Can't go to Oahu and not do the Diamondhead Stress Test (What I call it). Climb bottom to top without stopping and you won't need a cardiac workup. You'll be good to go for at least 5 years if you don't croak on the way up!!!!! Some of the steps are killer steep!!!!!
          And of course, Pearl Harbor.
I have a thread here from a couple years ago with a ton of pics of my last trip to Oahu. It was my 4th. You might like it if you look for it.

Eat at Cheeseburger in Paradise. It is right on Waikiki. It is awesome food. We only rented a jeep one day and drive around the island. It was really expensive for parking. You'll have a blast.

Hanama bay was my favorite place. Definatly check out the north shore. Becareful on the west side or just dont go there. Locals hate mainlanders on the west side. I was stationed at schofield barracks and had a blast. Oahu is a great place. Oh and waikiki is crap unless your thing is bar fights

I stayed on the west side the last trip and I had no problem whatsoever. And I was there by myself. No one bothered me, great beaches, surfing comps right next door, never a problem. I would do it again.

My favorite Island is the Big Island and if you have the time/budget I would recommend going there for a long day trip to Volcanoes National Park.

If you are spending the night, go up to Mauna Kea

                    Amazing Stars there...

Most of all, relax and have fun. I would do the beach stuff in the morning. On our trips it would rain in the evening.

You wind up in Oahu by default since that's where you first land. Maui is just a pretty and modern island with alot of fun things to do - restaurants, shops, etc. Kono was mainly barren on the side we were on. The resort was nice but out in the middle of nowhere and swimming with the dolphins in their pool was the main attraction. The shore was all volcano rock and not sunbather friendly. But the helicopter ride around the volcano was neat with red glowing lava still flowing down the mountainside into the ocean.

On one of the other two islands it supposedly rains most of the time, and I don't recall anything about the 5th. If we had it to do over again, we would have stayed more days on Maui and just flew over to Kono and came back the same day - ymmv.
