Is that the new ouster bar across from the central fire station? Just past the art museum?

        Frilley's

Denton is mostly chain restaurants with a few hole in the wall mexican places. There is El Matador and Mazatlan on University Drive although Mazatlan is good food, it is seemingly more of a lunch place.
        Really like this place!!!!

There was a Groupon for Frilley's the other day....don't know if it is still available or not but worth a look......$20 or $40 worth of food.

McGehee's Catfish, Marrietta, Oklhoma. Nice drive, not too far and
kinda remote. (follow signs...located in the country west of Marrietta.)

Will, I just thought of another one.

Adelweise. It is a german restaurant in Fort Worth on the Weatherford
            traffic circle.

We haven't been for a long time. But the owner/chef has a German Band
            that performs.

For a non-chain place I also vote for Frilly's if you like Cajun.
Unfortunately Denton does not have a lot of really good restaurants.

Sure it does. You just have to get away from the mall area and south Denton. Giuseppe's is awesome Italian food, a little away from the more populated areas. Greenhouse for a small eclectic menu and over priced drinks. Cartwrights on the square for family dining, and southern comfort foods. JJs pizza also on the square. And Palios pizza on 380 or the one on the south loop really good speciality pizzas. Roosters roadhouse and smokehouse for good BBQ. And there is always Frostys for an old times burger joint usually complete with classic car show on Saturday nights.

There is some really good dining in and around Denton if you just look a little off the beaten path!!

Cow Camp Steakhouse north of Decatur on Hwy. 287 has great steaks and great atmosphere. Casa Torres in Decatur for Mexican food, on 51 south. For burgers in Denton, Denton County Hamburger off of 380 on the west side of town.

We ate there last week and it was phenominal. I got a REAL chicken fried steak that I couldn't finish, REAL fried zuchini (battered with flour the way it's spota be), wife had hamburger steak, and it was all great. I'll do a ribeye next time.
