I vote for amistad. A little remote. But prettier than anything listed so far. And a definite change of paceLast edited by TexMax; 06-25-2012, 10:05 PM.

Would prefer to keep it within 4 hours or so of the Houston area, since we would most likely try to stay in the area for one or two nights. I'm mainly looking for family friendly lakes, that are jet ski friendly, and offer something different than the local lakes I've posted.
Thanks,

Canyon Lake is great and so is Lake Travis.

If you dont want to spend the $$ to stay at the resort, you can stay in Marble Falls. Hampton, LaQuinta, Red Roof, ETC. Day trip to one of the "nicer" parks in the Granite Shoals area. They have boat launch, picnic tables, bathrooms(fancy outhouse) There is also Tropical Hideaway. Older condos on the water you can rent by the night. Nice beach area for kids. Boat ramp near by to launch skis.
