    Dining/Activites in Grapevine

We'll be spending a couple nights in Grapevine next week at Great Wolf Lodge, and after reading all the reviews the consensus seems to be to take your own breakfast and lunch, then go outside the lodge for dinner. We've never been to Grapevine, so I'm looking for any suggestions on restaurants that are a "must" see in the area. We will be staying Monday and Tuesday nights at the lodge, but if I can find a hotel nearby we may stay Wednesday elsewhere and look for something else to do. Are there any other area attractions that could be seen in a day?

    Thanks,
    Brandon

I went a few weeks ago. Definitely take food and snacks!

You can go to Main St in Grapevine for dinner. There are several places that are kid friendly. Esparza's for Mexican and Big Fish for seafood come to mind.

Thanks. Do they allow you to take your own drinks(bottled soda/water) to the park area?

No but we circumvented that rule! They have lockers to rent to put your stuff (like the wife with a BIG bag) or you can leave them on a table or chairs to reserve it.

Beware of the treasure hunt thing with the wands! Nothing more you want to do after a day at the water park that go on a wild goose chase up and down the stairwells of a hotel.

Take the wife to the main street bread company for breakfast. It's good.
Also for breakfast on the very good side:
Old West cafe- just a little west of main street.
Biscuits- further down in the tom thumb shopping center.

            All three have excellent breakfast.

If we stayed in the area another night, any recommendations on places to stay or thing to do. It wouldn't necessarily have to be in Grapevine, it could be anywhere in the DFW area.

I had that 22oz Cote de boef,...and I think I could have eaten 2! That 28oz Porterhouse doesn't stand a chance next time I go!
