Hardworkincowboy does, he lust got some gear ripped off recently. So not a good idea to leave anything out there, but that seems to be the norm any more anywhere public. He knows his way around Ft. Hood. He would be a good go to guy. I am planning a hunt out there with him sometime this year if we can get our schedules together!!!!

Asides from your HL, you need the public land license, Ft. Hood permit which I think cost 100 for the year.
And last time I was looking into going there, you had to qualify by putting 2 out of 3 arrows on target from 20 and 30 yards.
              MIght've changed lately. Double check

There's quite a few guys on here that hunt out there. Go to the public hunting section on here. (a lot of good info) Always folks out there. You'll need a public land permit, 144" of hunter orange, your gear and then go stick one. I've only been twice but looking to go again.

                            Loftin,
Here is the phone # for the Sportsmans Center on Fort Hood. They can give you all of the information. There is some good hunting but a lot of competition. A lot of hunters and free ranging cattle. Also, hunting areas are closed sometimes because of training. I do hunt there because it is the closest place I have to hunt and it is the cheapest public land you will find for year round hunting opportunities. Good Luck.
