How long does it take deer/hogs to find feeder?

I put a feeder feeding 2secs in the morning and 2secs in the evening. I put the feeder out this past Saturday. My lease is in Walker county and its very Green right now so I understand this is good for the deer and that I shouldn't expect animals to be fighting for corn. This is my first deer lease so Im super excited and since its only like a fifteen minute drive I went and checked the cameras today. I also have a pig pipe that I mixed with hog wild and corn. The only thing on the camera was a few crows. I then changed the feeder times for 2secs at 7pm and then again at 745pm and decided to feed only in the evenings. My main target is for pigs right now and was wondering how long it usually takes for them to find a feeder and is there anything else I can do to help them find it?

Good question. I'm helping set up my buddy's lease in Red River County, he's wondering the same thing. I'll be following.

Hand corn the area around your feeder. They will find it. Good luck this year!

Probably depends on if you find a good game trail to setup close to. I put my feeder up at an intersection and had deer/hogs within three days. Don't worry they'll find it. Then it'll be on!!!!!

Hog wild will help for them to smell it and find it faster. I usually have luck after about a week.

If you put it on or near exising trails, they'll usually find it fast. If not, it can take a little longer. Right now they have lots to eat. I had a hog come in on video cam that was literally ten feet from an open trough (gravity feeder) of corn and didn't even bother to walk over to it. So you never know how they'll react if they have plenty to eat.

                Depends on several factors:
Have they ever been exposed to corn before?
Is the feeder in or near a travel route?
They will find it soon enough, just be patient and don't get too much human scent in the area. Sometimes, when we move a feeder, it will take them several weeks to really start to hit it good.

Not to hijack, but this is my buddy's land highlighted in purple, the red dots are the existing stands. We scouted the area and there are games trails near each of the stands but no feeders. He only has two ready to go, where should we put the two feeders? Maybe one near that 12 acre lake and one on the 4 way intersection?

It isn't really a question of how long because that can't really be answered. If you're the only one feeding though the second they find it they will camp out there and it should be easy pickin's!

Edit: Walker Co. is some PREMIUM realestate for big bucks too! Late October and early Nov should be lights out. No matter what you have to do (quit your job, devorce your wife, skip a funeral etc) MAKE SURE YOU'RE IN THE WOODS ALL DAY ON HALLOWEEN!!

Some places you can bait one evening and hunt the morning, others take time. Depending on numbers in your area, mixed with the green wet spring I'd expect feeder activity to be minimal or night. Most deer are educated to what feeders are and can identify them as food sources, and most get educated to there being risk associated with feeders and non natural structures. They might find it long before they approach it. If there's no need for the risk they walk on by. Human activity and pressure can play a role in how quick they find it or approach it.

I'd through a camera up and feed some hand corn in another area and see what comes in

                          This...

If you want pigs to come in, mix up the rankest sour corn and leftover crap from your house. Let it sit in the sun for about two weeks, then spread it all around your stand. They will find it in 2-3 days max.

they have probably already found it. I hand corn new areas and hunt the same day and 9x out of 10 I have deer in shooting range before dark
