Most people are anxious on new places, but be patient and it will come around.
          And good luck,

Anytime I start a new feeder site, especially one that is out in the open away from trails or bedding areas, I mix in some Buck Candy...that really shortens the time it takes the critters to find it. When a feeder goes off with buck candy corn in it, a huge cloud of scent carries in the wind...pretty cool sight actually.

As far as hand corning in the summer goes, I usually put out a couple 50 lbs bags over a couple thousand square feet. When I am hunting, I put out about 10-50 lbs right where I want to shoot the animal.

              Good luck!!!

I set the feeders for twice in the afternoon, then scatter 20 or so pounds of corn around the area and put one five foot pig pipe out with sweet feed, corn and strawberry jello. I won't hunt it for at least two weeks. This works well were I hunt, but alot of it depends on the number of animals that are in your area. Good luck.

I just got off a place in Walker County. The place was thick and really very few deer, but like you, I was after pigs. I didn't hand corn the trail to the feeders and should have. It took a couple of weeks before a big boar found one feeder and then I had sows with little ones hitting the other shortly afterward. You can also throw out soured corn, table scraps, and even try some powdered strawberry jello at your feeder...something they can smell and they will come.

Austin, I'd put a stand/feeder on the upper end of that lake. Not sure I'd hunt that stand on the fence on the bottom.

If you want pigs to find it fast and you can drive to your feeder, corn all over the roads leading to your feeder. The pigs will follow the corn on the roads right to your feeder.

First off, I don't think your feeder is throwing enough corn. 2 seconds is VERY short and unless there's a big gap between your spinner plate and the funnel, you're not putting much corn on the ground. Try increasing your throw time to 8-10 seconds. Also, throw out half a 5 gallon bucket each time you're there, until they start coming in. Trickle corn from feeder to any nearby game trails and corn those trails - this will help animals that are passing by to find the corn.

If the deer in the area have not been fed corn before, it will take them longer to start feeding- they have to get used to it.

Sometimes when we put up a new feeder it takes a few weeks for game to find it and sometimes it's over-night. Just be patient. Soured corn, corn mixed with strawberry jello and big red or corn laced with diesel may speed up the arrival of hogs because the strong smell will attract them.
