    I would agree with this and there is a ton of volunteer work you could do for different shelter groups and then you have the best of both worlds.

      stay with nursing, but look into a different type of nurse like surgical nurse or something like that.

        One thing that may come up is with your grades, there is possiblity that you may be asked to go straight into teaching for nursing degrees. This happened to my wife when she took the nursing exam before she even went to nursing school (she did not go). They told her up front that when she got her RN they wanted her to go and get the degree to teach. May not happen with you, but that could be an option.
