    Need some advice...

Alrighty guys here's my dilemma. Right now I am a nursing major at SFA and not really loving the school so me (and as I'm sure everyone has seen, sippy) are looking at Tarleton. They have a very good nursing program but I really feel like I am supposed to be working in the animal field. I'm not sure if I want to change my major and I know nursing is more logical money and job wise but I really feel like I need to be working with animals. Does anyone have suggestions on a good major or any advice at all? Thanks

Stick with nursing, an rn is an rn.....

You can always play with critters on your time off

Taking care of Sippy wouldn't fill your need to help animals?

See that's the issue, I don't really wanna be a vet..I'd like to be a vet assistant but that isn't even a degree so I'd be going from planning on getting my masters in nursing to not even a degree :/

Stay with nursing, good degree, great job and the money is there. Also, nurses are always in demand. And yes, taking care of and playing with Sippy shoud take care of your animals wants.

Become an emergency room nurse. You will see lots of animals on friday and saturday nights.

Get your nursing degree, use your skills & knowledge to work in a clinic, or even better at a wild animal rehab center.

If you have to talk yourself into something else, you probably won't enjoy it. Surely the thought of you and him a few hundred miles apart for a little way can't be that bad can it? Why not stay with your program, and let him chase his. Then when you both are done, get back together.

And RN is recession proof, and from what I understand will pay pretty well for eternity.

Tarleton actually has a nicer nursing facility than SFA so that's not the issue.

Actually, there is a degree for being a Vet Assistant. It is called Register Vet. Tech. My wife is an RVT.

The problem with an RVT degree is, unless you go into a specialty practice, then the oppertunity for advancements is somewhat limited.

She can answer any questions you might have if you would like.

The difference of about 60-70k per year is your realistic comparison.
