    Gun Safe Moving Ideas

I should be picking up my gun safe this evening from Tractor Supply.
I have two corners to get around in the hallway and I don't think that leaning it back on a dolly will work. Any great ideas on moving it. It weights 500 lbs and is 30"x26" and about 5 ft high.

a 4 wheel dolly will handle that turn it the same thing furniture movers use.

I helped a friend move one that size a while back. He had tried using a furniture dolly but the weight one the wheels cracked his ceramic tile. Don't know how professionals do it, but we ended up laying down sheets of plywood in the hall then rolling it on 3 or 4 short lengths of Sched 40 pipe

I had a professional safe mover do it for me. They picked it up at TSC and put it in place at the house which was 75 miles away. The total cost was only $200, which was well worth it.

Piano dolly - I have moved my twice now and it has been a life saver. I laid plywood down over the carpeted areas.

I used pvc to roll mine on. Golf balls or a dolly as well.

                  What floor covering?

If tile or hardwood then lay a piece of carpet upside down, set safe on it and slide to where you want it.

My wife and I have moved mine this way 4 times.

Which safe did you pick up at tractor supply? What was it that sold you on that one? And how much did it cost out the door?

                    If you don't mind...

Oh and I have heard of people having good luck with golf balls... That's the way I would go.

post pics and let us know which way you go, I have been wondering what the best way is......i've heard to use pipe, but i've always wondered if it would break tile that way?

I moved mine by placing them on a heavy blanket and one person pull on the blanket and one person pushing.Worked great.

I just had a professional move one for me and for the $150 it cost, I think it was worth every penny. If you damage something in the process more than likely your going to pay at least that to repair the problem.

If your interested I have his contact info.

Pretty heavy safe for golf balls if you have hardwoods or tile they might get messed up.
