Took a few guns to the range this morning to shoot. I was going to sale a friend an xd 9mm. He has never owned any type of firearm. I was going to show him how to operate it safely. We put a box through it and he shot it well. I brought a couple more pistols to let him shoot. I had them laying in the back seat of my truck with the back door open. Both pistols were loaded. I walk down to change targets and he hollars mind if I look at your kimber, said yea be careful its loaded. Im almost back to my truck and I hear "BOOM", I hit the ground. He is screaming my ears, im hollering you shot my truck. Once I gained my senses I went to inspect the damage. Went right through the carpet and floorboard. It nicked the emergency brake cable and left a 45 cal hole in my truck. He then ask if he can get his money back on xd, said he would never handle a gun again. I give him his money back. Im so thankful nobody was hurt. Ive been around guns all my life and this is my first expierence with an accidental discharge. Im still shook up from it, left a bad feeling in my gut I havent been able to kick. Have u ever been around a gun thas has been accidentaly discharged?

I accidentally discharged my 10mm in my garage once. I swore I ejected the mag, cycled it, pointed down at the open door and pulled the trigger. BOOM! Scared the stuff out me. Turns out I actually loaded one and fired. I was shook up for a week thinking of different scenarios if it would have hit my kids, wife, dog, etc. I learned a very valuable lesson that day and I have a hole in the carpet as a constant reminder.

Should have started with gun safety instead of shooting.

Never had an accidental discharge before, but once upon a time I took my lovely wife to the gun store to find her a handgun for the house since I worked nights. We found her a Sig p238 with a laser... When she found that laser button, that was the first time I've ever had someone purposely muzzle me. Scary scary scary.. even though I knew, she knew, and the owner knew it was unloaded, it still freaked me out..
