When is a friend not a friend anymore?

seen this happen before, when they stop making it a priority to even respond (whether it is a confirmation, cancellation, etc.), you should stop making it a priority to include them. i'm assuming he either thinks that he would rather be spending time with the wife or that she won't let him do anything else, in which case he should be putting an end to it as everyone still needs friends.

She owns him. She doesn't want to see him happy. He wants to make her happy and in her eyes doesn't do enough. Same thing happened to somebody real close to me. Sad story and hate to c it happen to other people. I have seen and hunted with my old hunt buddy only twice since 2005. I still think of him as my best friend and he too was also my best man at my wedding. Keep sending him pics of all your hunts. Have a complete stranger at the next hunting property (ranch hand) stand next to you at your next LDP. Erase his face and superimpose his image on the pic and send it to him.

I am in this same boat. What sucks about it is I am in the military and no where close to home. It is hard to have a true friend that knows you like a book because you never get that close to people and the people you got close to are most likely in another state. I guess eventually they will find someone to take your place.... Hell I can barely find a buddy to go fishing with me. My wife feels bad for me so she tags along lol.

I'm married and have a busy life, and I still hang out with you all the time. I wouldn't give up on him completely, but if he's not willing to put anything into maintaining a friendship, then sometimes you have to let go. I've let go of a lot of friends over the years...life goes on, and the people in it sometimes change.
