It's just what we were told, they were just the people at the Apple store though. BTW, I was told that when I bought my 3G and my 4. I dont know if it's true, just want the rep told me.

by any chance were you updating something last night?

what kind of computer are you using?

you might need to clear your dns cache and potentially find another/alternate download source for the sw you are trying to download.

      was the phone jailbroken?

        Wasnt updating last night.
And at this moment I am downloading from another source.
First I was using my dell inspiron 1525 laptop but switched over to my hp and am still getting the same results.
And yes I did jailbreak my iphone about 6 months ago.
The firmware just finished downloading so lets see if this works!

Is there an Apple store near you? They can try too if neither source is working for you. The ONLY thing that stinks dealing with them (at least here in Fort Worth) is that you have to make an appt with a concierge.

Yes there is one about 5 minutes from my house. However since my phone was jailbroken I dont think that is my best option. I think i've almost got it fixed so lets hope this works!

Fingers crossed for you bro! Also, try the apple website for support. I dont know if you've already looked there but it will usually list what errors you're getting and step by step on how to fix it based on those errors. Sometimes useful sometime worthless. Let us know.

Contact Apple Support an they will coach you through it free of charge. I once had trouble getting my phone to sync with itunes because of something I had running on my laptop. They did an awesome job. Good luck and hope this helps.

I have had that happen with three iPhones and all three times it ended up being a dead phone and had to replace it.

That's why I didn't jailbreak mine. It allows unapproved script to be run and downloaded and viruses to enter.

                        Seriously??????
Lmao at this one the battery is internal and soldered in. Not a good idea for average user.

The sim card causes problems sometimes. You can remove it and clean it off with a pencil eraser. Also if you look at it close enough you will see the card is bent from the contacts pushing on it in the phone. Slightly bend the sim back and then put it back in the phone.
I know for fact this method fixes the "no sim installed & loss or slow down of connectivity to the data signal.

As for restart or shut down of the phone daily. You can if you like. However you really only need to do this maybe once every 3 weeks to a month.
All resetting or shutting down does is free up random memory to improve the performance of the phone. Ever been browsing and the phone slows down? Or never cleared out all the apps in the multitasking bar? When the free memory is below 100mb and the iOS/Memory management of the system will start killing processes to free up memory. Sometimes it fails and closes/crashes safari and other apps you are currently using at the time.
With a jail broken phone you can kill the processes that do not show up in the multitasking list. And while we are talking about multitasking. If they tell you it does not use memory when these processes are running. They are lying. I can prove that it does.

So kill your multitasking apps more frequently and restart the phone ever so often to get the peak performance out of it.

Be prepared for them to do nothing. Hopefully, they won't know you jailbroke the phone. They will say that voided your warrenty.
