Difference between Tex Mex and Mexican food. And ketchup isn't salsa.
I know all about the food in Austin and SA....cant compare.
Ohhhhhh lord. Tex Mex is far superior to bland mexican food...not even close. Do you know who you are talking to? The maker of the best/hottest FRESH salsa in the wooooorld.....BoBSalsa.
As I type this I am in Laredo....the best taco town on the border. The HEB across the street has a salsaria that is as good as commercial salsa gets. As for restaurant salsa...it gets no better than Chuy's or Casa Rio on the riverwalk. Good, fresh stuff....not that boiled/cooked picante sauce.
Yeah, because San Antonio/Austin/Laredo has no good Mexican or Tex Mex.....pft. Come on man.
I take back my pok-e-Jo's praise from earlier....brisket was so dry, I thought I was eating turkey...hell, it might have been drier than the stale Texas toast they served up....corn reminded me of elementary school and the mashed taters looked like ol grey leftovers from last week....I cured myself of pokejo's (183) today
Joe's BBQ in Alvin, TX used to be good as any. Joe retired and his son ran it into the toilet. Now Joe is back, but the quality hasn't come with him. The chopped beef is still slimey and the sliced beef is dry. Their hamburgers used to be the best in town, but look like preformed patties now.
Hate to say it but I'll go to Rudy's and eat chain BBQ before going back.
Greeks BBQ outside Froberg's Farms is pretty good. Plus you can get Mamma Froberg's pies.
I agree with everything but it is tough to go to Rudy's...
