Who's has been hit in the snake boot?

have been hit on work boots and lacrosse rubber boots several times during my long forestry career by cotton mouth and copperhead. it will scare the heck out of you especially when they get stuck to a pair of chaps!!! guy i was cruising with got hit in the chaps one day and drug the snake all the way back to the truck so he could cut him off with a machete.

I had a rattler strike me about 15 years ago. I was walking next to my buddy, and as we stepped into the culvert next to the road, I hear a rattle. I immediately jump to my side,away from the rattler and into my buddy. As I jumped, I kicked my left foot to the side, and the rattler bit the bottom of my tennis shoe. I even felt the thud of the impact. We proceeded to stick some arrows in him and hang him on the wall.....luckily I was not bitten!!! I still dont wear snake boots!!!

Yeah I've done it a couple of hundred times but not with my snake boots just my cowboy boots.

I have a whole different view on rattlesnakes after this experience. I think their a little over rated!

Rubber boots from Wally World for 19.95 will not let the snake bite ya!

If you wear them...i was wearing sandals when I got bit, no more....If ya see a lady walking around in shorts and rubber boots or tall cowboy boots, its me...no more sandals ever again!

Many years ago I worked at a snake ranch, the owner always let the big rattlers strike his rubber boot to educate people.

walking out from pig hunting one afternoon and got bit by a cottonmouth that was about 3 1/2 feet long, hit me about the calf area, i jumped as i was swinging a arrow at him. the boots paid for themselves right then.

I was back in high school while grubbing mesquites one summer - except I wasn't wearing snake boots, just regular ol Red Wing Work Boots - Fangs didn't come through the boot at all - got lucky

I got hit by about a 4' rattler a few years ago. Had on snake boots on and I felt it hit me, I didn't see him and he didn't rattle until about 10 seconds after the strike. He got some 10mm.

I remember someone getting hit a year or two ago at night outside his camp house. He was wearing snake boots and he said it felt like someone threw a baseball at his ankle. I think it got his attention.

Been hit 2 times. A first time in high grass and have no clue what it was. The second time was this year in the ranger riding down the county road. 5 plus footer hit me in the calve area while I was going 10 mph. Felt like a rock was thrown for the front tire. Scary stuff.

Back to the topic of snake boots. How well do the snake shin guards work against snake bites in comparison to snake boots?
