Who's has been hit in the snake boot?

Just curious if any of y'all have been hit on the snake boot by a Rattler or other venomous snake and if so did it hurt scare you or what? The reason I'm asking is because I was talking with a buddy and he insists on letting a smaller rattler about 3ft or so strike his chippiwa snake boots while wearing them I told him he's nuts. Might as well let one of the 6 footers we kill down south hit him go big or go home. And yes he's my buddy and I can't help it. He's one of those friends you just love but wonder about sometimes

Got some this year for Javi hunt, thank god to I almost stepped on one that was about 5 feet long! We ended up killing three big ones!

I never go without my snakeboots at the ranch. We have a ton of rattlers and the smallest one we've killed in 15 years is 4ft the biggest being around 7ft

I've let many rattlers in the old day bite my foot wearing Justin ropers.

Not a snake but I was hit by a StingRay while wearing Foreverlast Rayguards.

And YES it scared the poo out of me. Best part it was late in the evening and I was stalking tailing reds in a back cove. At one time while waiting for the reds to come my way on the shoreline I counted 11 rays without moving.

Very nervous but not a scratch from about an 18-20" ray tip to tip. He put a mark on my boot about 2" above the ankle.

The idea of tempting a 3 footer to strike is stupid, crazy or both. There's no telling where he'll hit ya.

            Good luck.

I think I'd be more scared of the little ones and their small needle like fangs for play strikes like that.

Personally for me....with or without boots, I'd probably have to change my drawers...

I almost posted this same thing the other day. I am sure a bunch of us have snake boots, better safe than sorry but wondering how many of us have been hit and saved by them.

I have been hit in the top of the foot by one I stepped on - it made me jump

I don't care how tough you are, or how much you deal with snakes, a sane person will still be careful. The ones we will use this weekend will be de-fanged and their mouths will be sewn.

I still give them a wide berth

Catch the big ones don't kill them!!! Big money

I've never been hit but have stepped inches away from plenty of them and caught one for the heck of it. I think I would cry if one hit me...

Rubber boots from Wally World for 19.95 will not let the snake bite ya!

If you wear them...i was wearing sandals when I got bit, no more....If ya see a lady walking around in shorts and rubber boots or tall cowboy boots, its me...no more sandals ever again!

Many years ago I worked at a snake ranch, the owner always let the big rattlers strike his rubber boot to educate people.

I got popped by a rattler a few years back. He hit my boot and I thoughti had backed into a stick. When I turned around i was looking at a nice 4ft plus diamond back

Did the sight of the snake result in the discoloration of your pants!?!

I was struck on my left ankle by a 3.5 footer. I was wearing my rubber lacrosse boots. Walking along the edge of a plowed field.

Quite a few times. It doesn't scare me if I'm expecting it but my heart rate tends to go up a little when I'm walking in some tall grass and all the sudden I hear one start buzzin right under me.When that happens it's hard to tell which direction you should go.So I always just go straight up and figure it out when my feet hit the ground again.

Had one strike my jeans yesterday and get its fangs caught. That'll make you dance around a little until you shake them loose. I just wear regular high top boots/work boots most of the time though.Snakes can't strike through those either and since I'm already wearin them every day I just go ahead and wear them instead......because I'm too lazy to put my real snake boots on is what I'm tryin to say I guess.
