Any truth to the load range Es being the old compound?

I drive 2 hours each way at least once a week and then spend two days at least a week at the ranch which is mostly kahlichi (sp?) roads. I'm told that's what wears my tires out. Anyway I got right at 31,000 on mine and they wouldn't pass inspection
But imma dummy. Discount gave me about $400 off for the warranty so I bought some more cause if they don't make the 50k I'll get another big discount. The others (nitto & toyo) don't look as good IMO and don't have a 50k warranty. Plus I never got a flat on the BFG's and I DROVE em hard!

It seems to jive... I'm on E's right now, they replaced my D's. I did get 50k plus on my Ds and they still had a little tread on them. I changed my tires because I got 4 of them for under 700. It rides very rough but then again the Es are made for a full sized truck, not my little mid-sized Tacoma. They also seem to be even rougher than the Ds were. This may be an unfair comparison because I may be used to the Ds after 50k of wear compared to brand new set. Although, I don't remember the D's being that rough. This is also 8 ply vs. 10 ply. That brings up another POI though... the more the ply, the more the rubber, the longer they last??? There seems to be quite a bit of inconsistent feedback out there on these tires and I wish I could trace it for sure. I have loved mine though. I actually drive down a gravel road on the way to and from work and the only downside I have found is that it does throw rocks like an SOB... my undercarriage sounds like a warzone when I get up to speed on the blacktop! Luckily I have rear mud flaps so I don't crack anyone's windshield. Another thing that I liked about them is if they do wear early, you just take them in and if the wear faster than they should, they prorate a new set.

Just another opinion... for what that's worth

@30-30 - I get mine at Discount Tire across from the pawnshop on Texas Ave. Might wanna ask them. Talk to Robert, hes a good guy, and a friend of mine.
