Seriously, you haven't heard of thermacell?
do a search on here... .. . it is THE single best product developed for the outdoors.
One of very few that do exactly what is says it can do.

I think I've heard about it but sounded like another gizmo. I don't do a whole lot of Texas hunting, but will maybe pick one up now if it really works. I wonder if that would work in Canada and Alaska....bugs have always been an issue there.

I know it works on skeeters...but the may flies and black flies nothing seems to work on....

If they smell it then it must not bother them. I had a buck get about 10 feet from putting his nose in the blind with me and the Thermacell was running.

Now I will say if it starts to run out of fuel and starts sputtering then you might have a problem like I did. It only took once for me to learn to make sure it has enough fuel to last the whole time I was setting.

Im gonna have to try it out. Did that buck really have a 10 ft nose? Maybe you just meant he was about 10ft away. It sounded like he was 10 feet away and his nose was IN THE BLIND...dang!!!

I really like mine! You have to be smart with it if your sitting in a pop up.

Love everything about my thermocell except the lighter/igniter. I have to push the little button 20-30 times before it lights on both of them.

Thermacell is the ticket...It works in the East Texas Piney woods.

I've noticed a drop off in activity in seeing deer and hogs anytime I use Off, or other similar sprays. U guys recommend anything? Other than paying extra close attention to wind, I'm not sure if there's anything else you can do.
Thermacell tryed and tested in Canada while spring bear hunting, bear never payed attention to it.If you ever been to canada you know they have more bugs than Texas

...and with or without mosquito spray, the hogs WILL smell you. You won't fool their nose. If you play the wind, you can use sprays, but they seriously do not work as well as the thermacell. I keep a can of spray on my 4 wheeler just in case, but unless my thermacell runs out of butane or I lose my little discs, don't think I'll ever need it. Heck the skeeters are so bad at our hog lease, we have to put one out just to skin one at the camp...

Thermacell all the way! Never leave em or I will not hunt when skeeters r that bad without my Thermacell.

We also use one when cooking and eating outside. I would pay twice what they sell these for. They are great. Reminds me. I need to get another one as a just in case.
