Run for the Border Part II… the end of pipeline road in 2007

If my old memory serves, the red line is the pipeline and the red marker is Don Martin where we bought beer and tequila.

Rancho Los Indios was near the end of the red line but I'm not sure exactly where.

Farmdog measured the distance on the pipeline in beer. He used to say it was a 12 pack off pavement.

      Haha! Crazy pinche gringos!
Thank God the Cops didn't take La Blondie away.
Come to think of it, even if they did, they would bring her right back and take the tekillya instead.

That Brings Back so Old Good and Bad Memories... I probley even know the Old Cowboy that Got run off from the Fight Next door. We had problems with him showing up Drunk back in the Day trying to Trade Beano For Beer

We hunted that ranch for three years and lived out of a Old camper we brought in all the way up the pipeline. We lease the ranch due to it not having a livable house back in the day and figured it was hunted very little due to the Fact. My father had a Life changing Acadent on the ranch the third season and almost Died all the way in the Back on the Northwest Fence Line. He would have Died if it was not due to the landowner finding him and Saving his life after Laying out there 56hrs with a Leg broke in 9 places, Broken Ankle, and a Crushed Foot. After all that went down My dad told me he would never hunt with any other Rancher on Mexico But, that Owner after He saved his Life. To Try and get my Father back on his feet I Kept the lease paid for and decided to Fix up the Old House to try and Make it a little better on Us. After Building the Bathroom and Added the septic system and $3,000.00 Later we at lease had a Small House to stay in and the cowboy was happy with His. One season Later The landowner sold me out for $1,500.00 because he need extra Money to pay his dad back. Did not ask me for it or anything. Just leased it to another group in hopes to start making more money. I Left no problem but, not with out Topping off all the drain Lines in the Bathroom with cement before I left

Crazy how Things Turn Out sometimes

Very cool. Man does this thread bring back lots of old memories. Great pics.

My first hunt in Mexico was a 7 day hunt in that neighborhood. Never saw a deer not one!

Second hunt in Mexico the following year was in slightly different area. Accommodations look much like those in pics. Got so cold my water bottle froze in my back pack beside my cot overnight. Hunting only marginally better.

Hunting and lodging have improved but I still think back to those days with great fondness. Thanks for digging up the archives.

EL Indio. the first year I hunted there was with people I didn't know too well and the woman shot a 174 and I think she was leading for awhile or won the ladies division at ANGADIs tournament.

the second year I leased it with my buddies and not a single one of them ever saw the ranch one time.
