D12- it's hard to judge hogs from pictures without knowing being able to see how thick they are. The red boar in the bottom pic appears to be the heaviest and I'd guess he's somewhere around 200#. Alot of folks waaay overestimate the weight on hogs, but we weigh almost every one we shoot here. And yes, boars are like bucks when the sows come into heat. They will stay with that sow and definately drop their guard while he's with her. Most of the big boars killed here are taken when running sows that come into the feeders. Unlike deer which are seasonally polyestrous (coming into heat only during a certain time of year) hogs are polyestrous and can cycle any time of the year, except during a period of anestrous while they're lactating. Good luck getting the big guy...just remember that alot of times those big ol' mature boars aren't such great table fare, but they sure are purty on the wall!
