I have a 36” Blackstone. No complaints other than the grease drain on the back is a little bit of a pain.

I had a plain ol' 36" Blackstone for a year or so, and it was great. But I wanted one with some wind guard and a lid. I found this one at Walmart a few months ago. I'm carnivore, so I cook steaks on the griddle daily. It's awesome. Cooks great, the lid is super nice. I don't store much in the storage below, but it's there if you need it. It heats up fast (even in the winter on my north-facing patio), gives me a great sear on my steaks, and it cleans up in less than 60 seconds.

Probably 6 meals a day for that (lunch would be for 20 guys). This year we passed the blackstone for a guys weber slate. No comparison and while small change, the grease drain on the front corner vs the back is awesome. Way easier to clean up when its set against a wall
The lid, temp and overall build was better than the blackstone. And it never once blew out on those march days where the wind was howling 20 mph across the parking lot. The blackstone had to run on high to prevent that. I have a small blackstone at the deer camp and the weber is hot enough to cook on wayyyy faster
char grilles Flat iron look nice as well as the Weber
where I am at it’s super dusty and windy and unfortunately blackstone has more gizmos like multiple lids and covers to help with keeping them from getting dusty.
I don’t know if flat iron’s or Weber have the same gizmo sets?
but they should? And I think they are more evolved on burners and traps
i might stand corrected after seeing Shane’s black stone ( but $800 might be a bit more than this part timer could chew unless I was using more)Last edited by S-3 Ranch; 05-14-2025, 02:24 PM.

Aside from regulator and ignitors, theres just not a lot to wear out on any griddle. We grill a lot at home and while I want a dedicated flattop I just dont know if I can make the full switch and at the cost of the weber, Id almost have to. I still prefer a steak on a grill over a griddle and we see a lot of use of the side burner the grill has. In a perfect world, Id have a unit that had all three and wasnt 12 feet long. But in that same world Id have 4 boats as well.........

I must have missed that info. Thanks! I think?Current gas grill is good to go for a few more years. But I already decided I'm buying weber when it craps the bed. In 23 years ive only had 2 others
