You could use regular fence stretchers but that tool makes it easier. Where do you purchase it?

Well I dang sure ain't gunna post a pic of my splices after that!

I ended up buying the crimps, work pretty good as long as both wires are the same gauge. Found out the hard way the previous owner used gaucho wire in some places and I had regular 12 1/2ga

Good pair of Moore maker fence pliers.

THAT…is a thing of beauty. I don’t know what else to say except that it’s beautiful.

Took the words out of my mouth. I don't want to think how many endless miles of fence I fixed in Sherman county trying to hem up steers with these two tools.

I hate fixing fence but it does make me feel more manly! My splices are not pretty but they work. Pliers and a stretcher are all you need.

There are some knock offs for less. Think I paid 75 bucks for mine. Hated to undercut the Texans but for something that's gonna slide around in the ranger bed, 75 was enough

I just use stretcher and crimp splicers, easier for me and not great at fixing fence by any means.....Have made loops and used wire between as well with stretcher but using my crimp on splicers looks much cleaner for me doing it......I've seen all kinds of gadgets advertised

The Texas fence stretcher is a really good tool to have when working with old wire IMO. Also depends on if you are able to drive to fences or if you are walking or on horseback. I don't know how many miles of fence we keep up, but we have every tool mentioned here and a few more. A roll of smooth wire and a roll of smooth twisted wire are both nice when doing fences. We pre cut wire patch wire to 12-15 inch pieces.
