There is a variety called celebration bermuda goes very well in shady areas. I had it for 16 years at my old house and it was awesome. Its gets a deep almost blue-green color.

They have a spray Chemical out that is supposed to kill off Bermuda and not effect your Saint Augustine. It’s been out a few years now.

          I’m thinking Astroturf !

I spent too many hours of my life mowing grass for kids who would rather play on the driveway with bikes, skates, basketball, etc.

Now I have a graveled “yard”. No mowing. Just mow the pasture roads when necssary.

Put a small herd of goats on it. They'll eat it down to the roots in no time.

I've been tempted, lol! I'm sure the HOA would love that... barbacoa for a bribe maybe.

And it will find a way to come back, been doing it in a garden for three years, spray it as it emerges and then again before winter. Burn off runners in winter also. Regardless it will take over again by fall

If you’re just wanting it out of flower beds or gardens lay down a heavy layer of weed barrier then cover with dirt. This will keep it out a long time. I did this for a garden in 2020 and only fight Bermuda on the edges today.

The best way that I have had is to get the carpet grass to move in. Fertilize Fertilize Fertilize. Over and over. The st Augustine grass will choke it out pull the big parts out and keep doing it.
