Thank you all so much…I love this community. Spent time with dad today and visited with his care team. He has adamantly refused a feeding tube, which I absolutely cannot blame him. We have opted for comfort care…basically, meds to keep him calm and to control pain. The clinical side of me knows this is the right choice and what he wants…the son side if me feels like I’m sending my daddy to be euthanized. It’s gut wrenching.

Man I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Having lost my MIL to dementia a few years back, we know well the helplessness and guilt of Comfort Care. Just know that there is nothing else that you could do. Going through that with my MIL completely changed my mind on Euthanasia. Our animals get better end-of-life consideration than our parents do.

Jen and I will continue to pray for your family. May God give your daddy peace and comfort. May He offer the family peace as well.

My dad went to be with Jesus about 30 minutes ago. We had spent most of the afternoon/evening with him. Mom was there with him. My heart is broken, especially for my mom. But, I am so glad he is pain free and at peace. Not sure how to go on now. I love you, Dad!
