Need Austin food recommendation nicer occasion

My first platoon sergeant is commissioning this weekend in Austin. I'm looking for a good place to take him and his wife out for dinner Saturday night prior to Sunday's commissioning. We have to be at Mabry 11am Sunday, so not a big deal where we stay Saturday night. It would be great to stay somewhere near where ever we end up having dinner.

Any recs would be appreciated.

You can stay in the arboretum area or the domain.

Fonda San Miguel-Great interior Mexican Food
Austin Land and Cattle-great local steaks 12th & Lamar
Steiner Ranch Steak House-very good steaks out north, great atmosphere
Lonesome Dove Game food and steaks-Down town
casa do Brazil on mopac-not as fancy but Brazilian steak houses can be good and you will eat yourself into a food coma

better make reservations quick.

Excellent Italian is Vespaio off S. Congress.
Ranch 616 for Southwestern fare and flair.
Eddie V's in the Arboretum has really great steak and seafood.

Red Ash, Comedor, J Carver, and Sammies are my favorites. These are all downtown. Reservations can be tough but call them instead of looking on open table.

If you can get a reservation, Dai Due is where you want to be. Jesse is an avid hunter and wild game fanatic. He only uses local ingredients at the restaurant, the menu changes daily based on what's available. He wrote the bible on hunting, processing, and cooking hogs- The Hog Book. Tumble 22 is a casual Nashville spicy chicken place. It's legit. Warning: in can be a bit spicy. Tasty, though.
