When does MLB pre-season end and the regular season begin?

Bascik's 'analysis' makes me crazy. Two out, bottom of ninth, runner on second, Garcia at the plate. Garcia takes a called strike on the outside of the plate. Bascik - 'The only thing he could have done would be to slap the ball to the opposite field.' YES, you big dummy!! That would've tied the game. Instead he flails at a ball well below the strike zone to end the game. All this while praising the Mariners, deservedly so, for their 'make contact' approach in the close game. Maddening. Back to hockey.
