I agree with this and what others have said. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere yet but I would also add a no trespassing sign facing his gate and others even if they aren't doing anything yet. My guess is they are ignorant to what they are doing and the sign and conversation will take care of it. If they aren't ignorant and don't respond, then you have proof of notice with video, pictures of the damage and pictures of the sign. That will all help if next steps are needed.

I think you need to go over and talk to him. Talk to him in a respectful manner, one neighbor to another. Point out the reasons his spraying poison onto your fence and property creates a problem for you, just as you did in this post.

When you do this, if he behaves like an a**, or reacts with indignation or belligerence, then you can pull out your big ugly stick. Just remember, once you pull out your ugly stick, there’s no going back, so your first attempt should always be courteous and cordial.

A request in writing would be a good second step. See my previous post for first step.

I was just looking back at pictures and I realized I found 2 dead deer near that area at the same time it was sprayed. I have been here 26 years and only found 3 dead deer. The other was killed by another buck. This concerns me for my livestock. Some of them are high dollar.

Don’t assume he’s a jerk until he shows you he is.

Most likely a new home owner had no idea how far the roundup would go or how it could damage a fence. I’ve never seen it damage a fence so I’d look into that too.

You need to channel Andy Griffith and have a face to face.

Certified letter, today if you want it to stop.

a good lawyer would probably tell you that giving them documentable notice is an important step in this process.

Lately one of the neighbors started spraying chemicals over onto my land to kill the grass/weeds. This one neighbor is the only one that put up a privacy fence along my 6 foot chain link fence. He offset it about 4 feet. He put a gate so he could bet between the fences. The area between the fences he has killed the grass 100%. It is dirt. I am not sure what he put out there. He has been spraying through my chain link fence to kill my grass/weeds. He has killed my grass about 4 feet into my land. Whatever he is spraying also rusted all my chain link fence and stripped the paint off of my T-posts. The worst part of it is that this area is one of my horse pens. That grass is going to be eaten by one of my horses or registered goats.

I can go over there and talk to him. I just want to make sure it doesn't happen again. What would be the best option to make sure it doesn't happen again?
Explain to him what you just explained to us. Many city folks do not understand that livestock can be particularly sensitive to specific pesticides and herbicides.

And most overapplications actually come from suburban dwellers. If 2 oz works, 4 oz will work better and faster not realizing the potency or residual effect.

If talking to him doesn't go well, that clean stretch might be a great place for a chicken coup with mostly loud roosters .

Unfortunately we were annexed into the city. The fence line between us is the city limits. We are in one city, he is in another.
                          Probably NOT a good neighbor.
I did get loss in the weeds (pun intended) on the highlighted areas however. Yall are in different cities but he protested a permit? Did he get your work blocked 400 yards away from him?

He protested your permit, he's a ****, call the police, TDA, who ever else.

He's already proven he's not reasonable.

Sounds like a great area to raise roosters.......if you are in a city if they have an environmental office to talk to, that's if you want them on your property.......it's virtually impossible here to get annexed into town unless homeowners agree and I don't know any that would agree to it. If he protested work 400 yds away definitely not a reasonable person to deal with......if town won't allow roosters then blue tick hounds would be good to keep there, they love barking and howling at night.......
