    I have not regretted spending the money on the zip off first lite stuff. If you’re out moving around, you can take off the bottoms without taking off your boots. Comes in handy.

    amazing how warm and versatile it is. You can wear a lot less clothing and stay warm, as you warm up good merino wool opens up and keeps you comfortable

      Costco sells 32 degree brand which is a merino blend. I wore it all week with temps in the single digits and was fine.

                  socks $30-35
                  merino or under armor long underwear ( $35-55)
                  $25 for cool dry long sleeve shirt base layer

                  but do increase my budget for pants, cashmere sweater, jacket ( wool makinaw or Columbia 4 in 1 )
