For a 4 wheeler, or a vehicle without a trailer hitch, a solo hunter can load a deer using a ground based contraption called an L E Vator that comes in a box you assemble from the parts inside. There are some You Tube videos that demonstrate it. I put mine together before Christmas, but still waiting for a chance to use it.

Dale, I was at that Bonanza(4 or 5) auction where you had that receiver hitch. It was a hoot watching you auction it off. A tad bit of adult beverages were involved. And yes... the beer holder was a topic of discussion.
Thanx for the link ... had a picture of my son's axis that I hadn't seen in a while. A hoist that Ol_thumper made for me.

Tink bought that hoist for about 800 (IF he payed), so I couldn't fake it much. That makes it the only thing I ever built, that I hope BROKE...😡Last edited by Dale Moser; 01-28-2025, 12:38 AM.

I bought one of those HME brand ones that Amazon sells and I didn’t care for it. It was way too flimsy for our purposes. But we need one to load deer over 200 lbs on an almost daily basis during deer season. I bought an Outback hoist at the beginning of last season and I love it. It’s very heavy duty and so far has withstood all kinds of abuse.
My only complaint is that is that is a little longer than necessary and I know they designed it that way so you can get large animals completely off the ground but it doesn’t lay down flat in a short bed truck.
