I was hoping to get one more trip in this year for crappie, cats, or something. But with the forecast temps, it don't look like it's gonna happen till next fall. Oh well. I'll just winterize the boat for the summer. And hibernate in the A/C, "Until September" comes.
Cool front coming around Memorial Day, don't give up yet.
Good thing Buff retired!! He would have to become a catfish guide before long!! I still have 2 Sundays in June and some weekdays left!! It’s been good!!
Well, my almost 2 year fishing break didn't make me any better at catching sacalait on waco! Haha
Finally have the "new" boat rolling well. Just took a new power pack, regulator, all new fuel lines, carb rebuilds, 2 fuel bowls, 2 new main jets, some wiring, lots of cussing, and a lot of Busch light.
The new rig is definitely an upgrade. I don't have a front sonar yet, so been fishing bridge pillars and standing timber in 10-25' of water. Catching some good size fish. But few and far between so far. Haven't pulled two off of one spot yet.
Still beating em down! Gonna take a break the end of the month and go fish Canada! Little man's after Pike, smallmouth, and walleye. Canada fishing regulations suck, we can bring home like 4 fish or something stupid like that.
Wow I guess the regs have changed. I’ve been to Quebec and Alberta several times. I don’t remember the restrictions being that strict but I haven’t been in 30 years so there’s that. Good luck to y’all when you go.
I came home for Memorial day weekend and finally got to go fishing. Unfortunately my LVS34 transducer was acting up. If I set the depth to anything over 20' and the range to anything beyond 50-55', the right-hand cones seem to quit working. I talked to Garmin and they had no idea, but will replace the transducer for $500.
I cranked the sensitivity on the first picture to show the dead area. It looks like the beams aren't transmitting and the range isn't reaching very far.
