    TERP program for new tractor?

Has anyone had luck replacing an old tractor with funds from this program? Lots of details that basically end with destroying your old tractor with funds going to a new "cleaner" model.

I have participated in TERP with heavy equipment a few years ago, from what I remember we had to give the approximate miles or gallons of fuel used over a yearly basis, that is how the amount was determined, then the replacement equipment had to meet those numbers over a 5 year period, if they did not you could be audited and have to pay back some of the grant. Wish I had of known about this last program, I have a couple of loaders I could have used it on, looks like the program is closed now, all funds have been claimed from what I could gather.

It's their way of trying to only have tractors in operations that have emissions equipment on them, like bribing people to buy electric cars..........be a fool to get rid of tractor to get one with the emissions BS, nice thing is they can be deleted but not during warranty period.

Yes, next window for application will not open until next year and then you hope you are in line soon enough before money runs out.

I see it as best way to reclaim my own money on the diesel tax I've already paid in. I've got a 80s model kubota but want to get a cab tractor. I'm not endorsing the diesel tax but good luck getting the state to get rid of it. They need to update the tax on electric vehicles to pay for roads too!

I wouldn’t trade my M6040 for a new one. It does all I need and the seat is familiar with my azz.

They will take any truck or piece of equipment in trade as long as it is registered and or will start, companies were getting rid of yard ornaments that were basically junk and getting 40 - 80 k grants for the new equipment, and it did not have to be new, just had to meet emissions requirements, I know of some concrete companies that traded every truck they had and got all new ones, they saved millions of dollars, not saying I agree with it, it is what it is.

I submitted an application this go around but was too late. If you’re going to do it, have everything ready to go and submit it immediately when it opens. Talking with a guy in the program it sounds like all the funds were basically allocated within the first few days.

How do these pols stay in office? Folks just don’t care enough to contact their elected reps and state their feelings. When is the last time you did?

I’ll bet that the person in charge of allocating funds has a lot of family and friends lined up.

Done it in years past, did it again this year and had 5 tractors approved. Had to cut frames and a hole in the engine block with torch in the old tractors.

A prime example of government waste. I swear, I couldn’t do this and vote conservative.
