If the SHTF, why would you be walking thru a metal detector? I think the expression is ‘don’t bring a knife to a gun fight”. I wouldn’t bring a fiberglass dagger to a gun fight.

I’d wear a heavy rodeo belt buckle on a soft leather belt I could wrap around my wrist to swing. File the little pin on the back of the buckle and you have a better self-defense weapon than a fiberglass knife.

Nah, if I'm gonna get a knife it'll be the real deal. I don't go through metal detectors though either. Those push daggers are a punching tool. If someone has a gun and you're punching them with a plastic knife you'd probably want to make it an accurate punch your first try and stab them right in the neck. I don't see that doing much punching someone in the head with it other than cutting their head. Seems like a good way to get shot in a real bad situation but I don't know.

Also what would be the legal ramifications for sneaking a weapon into a place where weapons are prohibited and you end up killing someone with it? We'd all probably like to think you'd be hailed as a hero or whatever but there's a chance you'd be in bad legal trouble over the deal. People have been sued for shooting people in their own house or having the bullets they used brought up in court because they had a scary name given to them by the bullet manufacturer to help convict them of a crime. My thing is If you can get close enough to a threat to stab them you have plenty of time to use your feet and move away from it too. John McPhee was in the business of killin. That dude could do someone in with his hands. He don't need no plastic knife. He just sales 'em because.....he likes money like the rest of the world maybe??? And people like thinking about scenarios where they'd get to throat punch someone with an undetectable dagger. So it's a good deal for him.

I think a standard metal pen would be just as effective if you're in that close of a proximity to someone wanting to do you harm. Ram that thing in someones neck, ear or eyeball. Might not kill 'em but I bet it'll shut the fight in them down pretty quick. And you don't have to explain anything to anyone except you brought it to write checks with.

OP, a guy on snipershide makes sharpies that are knives inside. They are pretty slick.

Well you often have to go through metal detectors to get into concerts or sporting events for example so you have something to fight with if SHTF inside the event

Guess so. They could always just make one out of a tooth brush like the shanks prison inmates make. Literally my first thought when I saw this dumb crap was that somebody finally figured out how to commercially produce a shiv.

When I was in 8th grade a kid in biology class decided to stick a Bic pen about an inch deep into the back side of my right shoulder. Hurt like a mutha!
