I bought a pair of Chisos #2s over the summer and love those boots! I have a pair of Tecovas but I mainly wear them with a suit dressing up occasion.

If you're going off the rack, Anderson Bean is where it's at. I've never tried on a pair of tecovas, but I've seen enough of them to know I probably won't.

I get a new pair of Ariats each year. I think they are the "Warthog"?? Maybe a different name. But they fit my foot really well straight out of the box. Unless I am wearing shorts, I will have these boots on. For everything.

I've never heard of Anderson Bean but after all these guys have mentioned them, I'll give them a look next year.

My every day boots are AB’s if I’m not in my steel toe work boots. Those are Thorogood. My nice boots are l Lucchese or old Justin’s .

Man I bought some Thorogoods last year and they are a pile. They all kinds of stretched and are super loose now and some leather liner deal inside has come loose. I was really disappointed.

Got both and Tecovas win by a wide margin

Ariat. Plain leather, sq toe. They last me 2-3 years, worn every day.

Now that you mention it my slip ones I had to add another pair of insoles . I thought it was from losing 35 lbs . My lace ups are still fine . I bet they did stretch out . But dang them wedge soles are comfortable.

I tried some leather glue on the liner inside and added another insole to try to make them work. I liked them when they were new, light and comfortable. Glue didn't hold and insole moves around too much. Bought another pair of Double H today.

I wore my old Tecovas today. I did like them but not any more.
Proper won’t be wearing them again.

i would try every boot brand on for sure.
My favorites now are my twisted X.

AB has been my last 3 pair. Once you get them worn down. Pull the insole and add a new one. They will become the best boot ever. The Lucchese for my dress boots. I am looking for a pair of black boots now. Just can not find the right ones that I want.

Any experience with the Ariat Rambler?

                                Yep, hated them.

My brother wears the Ramblers with the wedge sole and loves them.
