have dealt with Bot flys in deer, obviously you’ve never had a brown recluse bite, They leave a hard core where the original bite is, poison sits, and rots. Leaves a hard core node, not a larva .

Got bit in college on the inside of my thigh 3 times sleeping on an air mattress, spider was caught and still alive on a sticky trap about 5' from the bed. First bite was only a couple inches from the family jewels and 2nd and 3rd bite was him working his way toward my knee. First bite was by far the worse. Went to the hospital several hours after the bite and Doc put ice on it and gave me some sort of antibiotic but said there wasn't much to be done but observe it. He said only a small percentage of the population has the really bad necrotic reactions, luckily i was somewhere in the middle.

I got bit on the calf by one of those nasty $&@%% back in early August. This was a month+ after the initial bite. The redness is still the size of a quarter.
It was much worse earlier. It took forever to fully heal!! Never went to Dr. Probably should have. I just kept soaking it with peroxide and iodine.Last edited by PondPopper; 11-08-2024, 10:02 AM.
