Well boys.. hot, swirling winds, most have headed to the house already. I'm in my last sit for Hagerman 2024. This was my golden ticket hunt, so this will be my last sit here for (historically) the next 3-5 years.

Yesterday morning I seen the biggest low fence deer ive ever seen on the hoof and had him at 71 yards. Needed him to make a right and he went left. Oh the joys of bowhunting.

All in all, I've seen deer every sit. I'm gonna lean back in this saddle, take in this quickly approaching sunset and be thankful for another opportunity to enjoy creation.

        Til next time..

My son and I just finished our Hagerman hunt today at noon,it was getting to hot and the deer had stopped moving. we both punched our ticket for next year by taking a doe on Friday. we saw over 30 deer each day except for Sunday I saw 7 sunday morning. as of Saturday night 8 deer had been taken including 2 nice bucks.. If any of you seg B and C hunters are interested, shoot me a mesg and I will give you a good location

Hunt till the last legal minute when at the Hag. It can happen in an instant and you don’t know the next time you will be drawn is.

I called it after the morning hunt. Hagerman was glorious once again, even though I didn’t leave with buck in the truck.

Third time was not “a charm”, but dang close. I’ve been lucky at the H. Three doe, three “golden tickets” and two bucks taken from those.

Although it’s bittersweet leaving, my heart and mind are full of the fondest of emotions and memories. I had more deer in shooting range than I have fingers and toes. The one that will stick with me forever is the “Golly Whomper”. An incredible Hagerman specimen that easily surpassed the low 160 range. Watching him push two doe towards me and then bed down at 34 yards was about all my heart could handle.

For those still on stand, keep at it, stay alert and good luck.

                  It’s prime time!
