All Doe get a pass, at our farm !
Still trying to build the population.
All of the surrounding neighbors, think deer, grow on trees.

we are on 9000 acres low fence and kill between 50-100 does each season. We give the does to game wardens who take them to people who need the meat in nearby towns - it is a lot of work just shooting and gutting them but it is a huge part of our management program - I do agree that the does taste much better than old bucks

I have no issues killing does and do it for the meat. I am a trophy hunter and will kill a couple does long before I kill an immature buck ,100% of the time
        100% TRUE.
I have a couple that start looking at my bow blind when they are still 200 yards out. They do it every time. They always work their way in to 20-30 yards but are super cautious compared to any of the other deer. I threatened to kill them both last weekend but didnt. Oh but their days are numbered.....

Older does can be a challenge. Been after a barren doe the last two seasons. She is always solo and rarely on cams at feeders or food plots. Still a big girl too.

I agree, mature doe is much harder to hunt.

When I took over my lease 22 years ago we did not have a lot of deer. I put a moratorium on shoot does and spikes. We held off for years and years. We got the population up and when the rut hits the buck come looking for the does. We have a few that need to go now. Got 2 that I am looking for hard Floppy and another that is like others here. Loaner never on cameras bobs and weaves through out the ranch

Lead does are the smartest deer in the woods.

This is me in a nutshell, I’m not passing up meat for antlers.

Ever heard the thought that your older does will drop more fawn bucks - mother nature knows a fawn buck is stronger and easier on mom? Your younger does could have twins and both be does. leave your older does.....

I deer hunt (when I can) to enjoy God's blessings of putting meat on the table. You can't eat antlers but I definitely wouldn't pass ups a trophy to me buck of he's bigger than anything I've ever shot.
