Yesterday we woke up in Moab, to an insane sunrise. After taking that in we packed up the trailer and headed to grab breakfast at an awesome spot we stumbled across called Moab Garage Co.
We left from there to head to Redmond, UT to visit Fierce Firearms, which was awesome!! Gage Mogel, was headed out on lunch when we pulled up and recognized us and decided to show us around instead!! They have a too notch facility and build some amazing rifles.
From there we headed to SLC to make a stop at Scheels… which by the way is a dangerous place! I’ve never seen a place like this. It’s like a academy-dicks-cabelas ON STEROIDS. There is a dang aquarium, arcade and a Ferris wheel in the middle of the store!! Everything a man could need with places for the wife and kids to be occupied while you drool over everything.
We booked a cabin at the KOA to get one last night in a real bed, and a hot shower. We also splurged on one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten at The Capitol Grille in SLC. Today we head to MTN Ops for a tour and a workout and then it’s off to the unit to set up camp and wait on the others to get here this afternoon!! It’s almost go time!!!
Sorry for the delay. Service is non-existent, especially at camp Which makes for long nights of no scrolling. lol. But, it’s been nice too.
We headed out to our unit today and made a few hikes to scout some areas. It is even more rugged terrain than I expected. Straight up walls, narrow/rough trails, but we found a few spots today that were going to try tomorrow morning. Hasn’t been a lot of activity. The other guys showed up last night and said they saw 4 does close to camp. We’ve seen a grouse, tons of black billed magpies, and lots of chipmunks. No sighting of deer or bear yet, but we’ve got time.
We set up in an awesome spot next to the river, close to some hot springs. It’s a further drive but we’re headed back now to try and catch some walleye and small mouth this evening.
Here are a few pictures, and I hope to update more tomorrow with some sightings!
I totally missed the MTN Ops update!! Talk about an awesome experience. We were greeted by the owner, Tyler and his amazing staff. They let us hang out while they finished a staff meeting. Then showed us around and let me get a small workout in in their gym!! Before we did the tour Tyler had them start working on a gift bag. Which was full of about $100 worth of stuff. I got to see the stuff they’re sending to North Carolina for the relief efforts. I saw where they packaged all the food for the kids local to their area.
I was a fan before, but after meeting them I’m even more of a fan!! They have great products and give back!!!

My friends and I came across Tyler and if I remember correctly his brother and a camera guy in Colorado. We were camped a short distance from them. They has a couple good MB in camp. They were very cool fellas. Showed us some video they had taken of the two they killed. 1 was over 700 yards and the other was around 1000 if I remember correctly. He gave us drink mix.
